Spinning into Spring

The first skein!

It's been such a busy time for Visual Creative! So much to do in so little time. As the dust begins to settle after three very intense months, I have been catching my breath and learning a brand new skill: the ancient art of spinning. To date I have produced two full skeins of wool yarn, and sampled bamboo, hemp, linen, banana fibre, and silk. I have been haunting Etsy looking for painted roving to spin. I am coveting a silk and merino blend, and just can't choose the colorway yet. Ponder, be tempted, ponder some more.

I would like very much to learn hand-dying next. Soon, the fibre universe will be mine...
